08 February 2009 - Updates in the minor mode
Yet again it seems like ages since the last update, but I did some minor maintenance work on the ::music page so everything should be up to date now. On a more sour note, my love
with Logic Studio did not last too long and I finally gave up.. I'd rather cut myself into little pieces with a rusty spoon than try to do the most mundane tasks in music production with
Logic Studio. it has been quite frustrating converting all my work back to Ableton Live, still the album is nearing it's completion and there are plenty of exciting announcements to be made here in the near future. Thank you for your kind emails and your support over these last few months.

07 July 2008 - UMF5
On the 26th of July, one bad loop will be performing at Uuden Musiikin Festivaali (New Music Festival, UMF for short) in Turku, Finland which is "one of the largest electronic music festivals in Northern Europe". UMF is being held for the fifth time and it has been responsible for bringing artists like Autechre and Justice to come and play with us in Finland in the past years. This year Autechre nor Justice are attending, which is a shame.. but bad loop is.. together with whole bunch of other brilliant artists, so why dont you head over to the official UMF website at ::www.uudenmusiikinfestivaali.org and check it out for yourself.

Robot Dreams
Sometimes you make a song and you never really like the way it came out and sometimes you stumble upon an idea that what if you had made it this way, it would sound better? Well this is what happened with "Sometimes", originally released in 2006 on now defunct Kuurort Records.. and now remixed and re-released on compilation album "Robot Dreams" for ::Kahvi Collective. 14 May 2008 - Moscow
On the 22nd of May 2008, bad loop will be performing in Russia for the first time at the National Centre for Contemporary Arts (NCCA) in Moscow.
This time experimenting with a live improvisation of selected instruments and one rather peculiar ::drum machine, the performance should be filled massive soundscapes and unexpected darkenestesestesestness!! ...
or maybe it won't.. who knows..

7 April 2008 - Wavering
Yes my dear friends, It has been a long time. Things have slowed down to a pace of a limping snail for I have been busy trying to figure out technology and how it is not playing nice with me. Out of frustration I have been buying, selling, buying and selling gear left and right and almost nothing so far has worked out for me. Out of boredom I even purchased a Mac, and I ran into trouble I thought was not even possible at this age. To put it mildly: I hate it, I hate everything about it. But on the brighter side of things, I fell in love with Logic, which seems to be the only sane purpose to buy this apple thingy in my opinion.. and for the first time in two years, I am having fun making music and I can continue making the album...
And in other news, my dear friend ::Recue is releasing and album on ::Rednetic Recordings on the 12th of May 2008. The album contains nine tracks including remixes by ::your's truly and ::Eero Johannes.
Also there is a some new video footage taken from
::Klusa Daba ambient music festival which took place in Riga, Latvia on the 25th of August 2007. You can see it on ::Google video or you can download a high resolution 720p divx.
There will be more updates in the coming weeks on live events and music, but for now, be kind to eachother.

Oh we do feel the love of the German press again, for this month's issue of ::Beat magazine features an interview
of the loopster on the making of ::luo , live performances and music in general. There is even a small mentioning
of the forthcoming album..so if you are in or around germany,be sure to pick up an issue for your reading pleasure.
Also, for the 2 year anniversary on the release of Luo,
I have decided to release the album in FLAC
(::free lossless audio codec) format on a
dedicated ::microsite for those who care enough about the higher fidelity.

13 october 2006 - time out
After somewhat hectic spring and summer of 2006, I am taking some time off to write a new album and some other odd releases while
concentrating on the matters of the heart and things that are most important to me.
I want to thank thank all the people involved in making
all my live appearances possible so far this year; Dj burdock for the wicked night at Butane club, Kaido, Anti and Kaarel of Kuurort Records for the loveliest time in
Tallinn on several occasions and the all the people at Assembly 2006 for .. well .. assembly :)
Also I want to extend my thanks to all the people that have sent me
the loveliest, most encouraging emails. They really make my day.
There are some minor updates in the gallery and there is also plenty more live gigs in the works.

I have a rule that I don't post views or opinions of any kind, nor do I take any part in political, religious or environmental issues on my website, but I saw a very powerful documentary titled ::Earthlings and I felt
I needed to do my part in making people aware of this informative, thought provoking film.
::Earthlings is a feature length documentary about humanity's absolute dependence on animals for pets, food, clothing, entertainment, and scientific research, but also illustrates our complete disrespect
for these so-called "non-human providers."
The film is narrated by Academy Award nominee Joaquin Phoenix (GLADIATOR) and features music by the critically acclaimed platinum artist Moby.
This is a must see for everybody old enough, but I must warn that it contains highly disturbing images of animal abuse by humans.

We have finally managed to edit the video footage from last years Sun Dance Music Festival event in Tallin, Estonia into a nice 42 minute long documentary. The footage was filmed between 15th and 17th of July 2005 and is subtitled in English. Following performances are included:

::if:then:goto "another syntax error" (one022) qualifies simply as good song writing. Nothing tech, nothing too fancy - just good production, soulful vocals, inspiration, and catchy choruses. A mixture of brit-indie, guitar, and electronic music taken down his own path.
To top it off and spin things up, 'ASE' is closed out with 3 remixes from favorite One artists - including Emil Klotzsch, Bad Loop and Recue.
"easy" (bad loop remix) is somewhat of a tribute to late 80's / early 90's synthpop that I used to listen to as a kid.. so get those shoulderpads shaking. download it all at ::one.dot9.ca

if you didn't make it to the fantastic event held in Espoo for
some odd reason, no need to strangle yourself with your underpants,
for it isn't very comfortable and also we have
::live footage
of the event. we also tried to get the live
performances recorded on minidisks but sometimes you just can't avoid days when technology lets you down and you end
up with one minidisk filled with whining r'n b music.
i also want to thank everybody involved with organizing this lovely event, especially Apo, Mervi, Riku, Tevya,
Joanna, the boys from Kotka, Dazztypooh, the stars of the evening Lassi, Juho and Hosni + everybody who's names i
don't know.
